1. The general production process of milk powder is as follows:
acceptance of raw materials → pretreatment and standardization →
concentration → spray drying → cooling storage → packaging →
finished product
2. Acceptance and pretreatment of raw milk
3. Batching: In the production process of milk powder, except for a
few varieties (such as whole milk powder and skim milk powder), all
products must go through the batching process, and the batching
ratio is determined according to the product requirements. The
equipment used for batching mainly includes batching tank,
water-powder mixer and heater.
4. Homogenization: When producing whole milk powder, whole sweet
milk powder and skim milk powder, it is generally not necessary to
go through homogenization operation, but if diced vegetable oil or
other materials that are not easy to mix are added to the
ingredients of milk powder, homogenization operation is required.
The pressure during homogenization is generally controlled at 14-21
MPa, and the temperature is preferably controlled at 60℃. After
homogenization, the fat globules become smaller, which can
effectively prevent the fat from floating and is easy to digest and
absorb.
5. Sterilization: Different products can choose appropriate
sterilization methods according to their own characteristics. The
most common method nowadays is to use high temperature short-time
sterilization, because this method results in less loss of
nutrients in milk and better physical and chemical properties of
milk powder.
6. Vacuum concentration: After sterilization, the milk is
immediately pumped into a vacuum evaporator for decompression
(vacuum) concentration to remove most of the water in the milk
(65%), and then enters the drying tower for spray drying to improve
product quality and reduce costs. Generally, the raw milk is
required to be concentrated to 1/7 of the original volume and the
dry matter of the milk reaches about 45%. The temperature of the
concentrated milk is generally 47-50℃, and the concentration levels
of different products are as follows: Whole milk powder
concentration: 11.5-13 degrees Baume; corresponding milk solid
content: 38%-42%. Skim milk powder concentration: 20-22 degrees
Baume; corresponding milk solid content: 35%-40%. Individual fat
sweet milk powder concentration: 15-20 degrees Baume, corresponding
milk solid content: 45%-50%, and the concentration of concentrated
milk is increased when producing large-particle milk powder.
8. Spray drying: Concentrated milk still contains a lot of water,
and it must be spray dried to get milk powder.
9. Cooling: In equipment without secondary drying, cooling is
required to prevent fat separation, and then it can be packaged
after sieving (20-30 mesh). In equipment with secondary drying, the
milk powder enters the cooling bed after secondary drying and is
cooled to below 40°C. Then it is sent to the milk powder warehouse
through the powder sieve for packaging.
From the acceptance of raw materials, this is a step. After getting the milk, it is necessary to purify the milk and initially remove some bacteria and even some impurities. There is a cooling storage, which is a continuous work. After that, there is a batching process. According to the requirements of the formula, the required microorganisms, trace elements, and various auxiliary materials are added as a batching.
Product Introduction:
Centrifugal spray dryer has high automation, convenient operation
and good product quality. It is suitable for solutions, emulsions,
suspensions and even viscous liquid materials.
The so-called centrifugal spray dryer is to use a centrifugal
atomizer to dry certain liquid materials. It is one of the most
widely used dryers in industrial production. Spray drying is the
most widely used process in liquid process forming and drying
industry. It is most suitable for generating powder and granular
products from solutions, emulsions, suspensions and pumpable
lake-like liquid raw materials. Therefore, when the particle size
distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density and particle
shape meet precise standards, spray drying is a very ideal process.
Product function:
1 Fast drying speed, the surface area of the liquid is greatly
increased after atomization, and 95%-98% of the water can be
evaporated instantly in the hot air flow. It takes only 5-15
seconds to complete the drying process, with the characteristics of
instant drying.
2 The special air distribution device reduces the equipment
resistance and effectively provides the dryer with a processing air
position.
3 The production process is simplified and suitable for continuous
control production. Liquids with a moisture content of 40-90% can
be dried into powder at one time, reducing crushing, screening and
other processes to improve product purity.
4 The material completes the drying process in a short time, which
is suitable for drying heat-sensitive materials and can maintain
the color, aroma and taste of the material.
5 The product has good dispersibility, fluidity and solubility, and
the product particle size, looseness and moisture content are
adjustable within a certain range.
Application range:
1 Food industry: dense milk powder, gram protein, cocoa milk
powder, milk substitute, pig blood powder, egg white (yellow), etc.
2 Food and plants: oats, chicken juice, coffee, instant tea, spiced
meat, protein, soybean, peanut protein, hydrolyzate, etc.
3 Sugars: corn syrup, corn starch, glucose, pectin, maltose,
potassium sorbate, etc.

Note: The amount of water evaporation is related to the characteristics of the material and the hot air inlet and outlet temperatures. When the outlet temperature is 90oC, the water evaporation curve is shown in the figure above (for model selection reference).
