What is steel structure?
Steel structure is a metallic structure in which members composed
of structural steel are connected to each other to carry a load and
provide sufficient rigidity. Due to the high strength steel grade,
this kind of structure is reliable and need less raw material than
other types of structures such as concrete structures and wood
structures. At the same time, it will use smaller foundation to
reduce the concrete quantity to save the cost as its light steel
structure material.
In modern buildings, steel structures are used in almost all types
of structures, including commercial buildings, heavy industrial
buildings, high-rise buildings, light steel structure buildings,
etc. It also widely used in different industrial area, such as
cooking oil steel structure workshop, machine manufacture worksop,
storage warehouse, vegetable workshop, etc.
The main components of steel structure commercial building are:
1. Main frame
The main frame members include columns, beams and other supporting
members. The shape and size of these members vary based on the
application and requirements. The frame is erected by bolting the
end plates of connecting sections together.
All the steel sections and welded plate members are designed in
accordance with the applicable sections as per the latest
international codes and standards such as GB and IS to meet all the
customer specifications.
2. Roof and wall cladding
Roof for steel structure commercial building can be sandwich panel,
stone painted sheet or pouring concrete depending on roof slope and
customers’ requirement.
Wall is usually PU sandwich panel or rock wool sandwich panel to
make nice looking and good heat insulation.
3. Steel decking board
Decking board is for the floor of multi-storey metal office
building, its effective width is 688mm or 750mm. Decking board is
on steel platform as form board and support of concrete.

Steel structure commercial buildings are processed by factories and transported to the site for installation. The process of processing in the workshop is mainly divided into the following steps:
1. Cutting
Steel components, such as beams, columns, and plates, are precisely
cut to the required dimensions using advanced cutting techniques,
such as Automatic laser cutting machine, to ensure accurate fitment
during assembly.
2. Assemble
The cut steel pieces are fitted together according to engineering
drawings and specifications.
3. Welding
Welders employ various welding techniques, to join the steel
components securely. Welding creates strong and resilient
connections, enhancing load-bearing capacity.
4. Rust removal
Before surface treatment, any rust or scale on the steel surfaces
must be removed. Techniques like sandblasting, shot blasting, or
chemical cleaning are used to eliminate corrosion, creating a clean
and smooth surface.
5. Surface treatment
Spray painting or hot-dip galvanizing according to customer's
requirements, so that the surface is not corroded.
Packaging Detail:
The main steel frame will be securely packed using steel pallets,
providing enhanced protection during transportation. This packaging
method allows for efficient loading and unloading as the entire
frame can be handled as a single unit. Additionally, it helps
optimize container space, reducing the number of shipping
containers required and resulting in cost savings for ocean
freight.
Other components such as steel purlins and steel sheets will be
carefully packaged in parcels. These parcels will be certainly
loaded into containers, ensuring safe and convenient handling
throughout the shipping process.
Installation process of steel structure commercial building
1. Anchor bolt will be pre embedded according to design drawing: Anchor bolt plan.
When install, it need use template to fix, positional deviation is
±5mm. Screw thread should be protected.
2. Steel column installs according to installation drawing- column
plan.
Column foot plate should be welded cycle by continuous welding
fillet on site.
3. Floor platform will be according to installation drawing -first
floor steel beam plan, second floor steel beam plan.
Column and beam connected part, the plate will be welded in site;
Welding joint bottom will be welded with plate.
4. Roof beam will be according to installation drawing- Roof beam
plan.
Oblique beams should be welded cycle by continuous welding fillet
on site.
5. Roof purlin, steel stair and decking floor will be installed
according to installation drawing.
Diamond plate, decking floor and stair joint of stair transfer
platform can be cut according to the site installation.
6. Pay attention to length when install the gutter.
Water funnel will be parallel with wall.
