TP-Link Hangzhou Headquarters: Detailed 1:150 Sectional Model

In the realm of architectural design, attention to detail is paramount. A meticulously crafted model not only aids designers in showcasing their concepts but also provides crucial guidance during the construction phase. Two months ago, we completed a 1:300 scale model of the TP-Link Hangzhou Headquarters. Now, once again commissioned by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), we have created a 1:150 scale sectional detail model. This model aims to exhibit the space structure and materials in greater detail, making specific adjustments to the facade, glass curtain wall transparency, reflective coating of the glass, structural details, and landscape design. This model plays a significant role in the final design optimization and construction guidance.

Project Background: TP-Link Hangzhou Headquarters

TP-Link is a global leader in networking devices, and its headquarters in Hangzhou is a modern, high-tech office building. The design of the headquarters is handled by the renowned architectural firm KPF, known for their innovative and meticulous v designs. To better showcase and optimize the design, after completing the 1:300 scale model, we were commissioned by KPF to create a 1:150 sectional detail model.

Detailed Display: Space Structure and Materials
Compared to the 1:300 scale model, the 1:150 sectional model focuses more on detailed display. This scale allows us to showcase the internal space structure of the building, including floor layouts, ceiling heights, and column-beam structures. Through this model, designers and clients can see the actual effect of each space more intuitively.

Material display is also a key aspect of this model. Through the application of different materials, we can showcase the true texture of the building. For example, the color and transparency of the glass curtain wall are accurately reproduced in the model, and the reflectivity of the coated glass is carefully adjusted to ensure the model accurately reflects the building's exterior appearance.

Facade Detail Adjustments
While creating the 1:150 sectional model, we made several adjustments to the facade details. These adjustments not only enhance the accuracy of the model but also provide a basis for design optimization. Specific adjustments include:

Color and Transparency of the Glass Curtain Wall:By adjusting the color and transparency of the glass, we can more accurately display the building's effect under different lighting conditions. This provides important references for designers when selecting materials.
Reflectivity of Coated Glass:Adjusting the reflectivity makes the model more realistic, better reflecting the visual effect of the actual building.
Structural Details:Adjustments to certain structural details, including the optimization of support structures and connection nodes, make the model more in line with actual construction requirements.

Landscape Design:In addition to the building itself, the surrounding landscape design is also detailed in the model. The layout of greenery, roads, and public spaces is carefully designed to ensure a harmonious overall environment.

The Role of the Model: Design Optimization and Construction Guidance
The 1:150 sectional detail model plays a crucial role in design optimization and construction guidance. Firstly, the model allows designers to see shortcomings in the design more intuitively and make corresponding adjustments. This intuitive display method is more effective than two-dimensional drawings, significantly improving the accuracy and feasibility of the design.

Secondly, the model provides important references during the construction process. The construction team can understand the details and materials of the building through the model, allowing for more accurate construction. This not only improves construction efficiency but also reduces rework and waste caused by unclear designs.

Conclusion
The 1:150 sectional detail model of the TP-Link Hangzhou Headquarters is another masterpiece of our collaboration with KPF. Through this model, we not only displayed the space structure and materials of the building but also made optimized adjustments to the façade details. This model plays a crucial role in design optimization and construction guidance, providing a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the project.
