Product Description:
The spring collets work with CNC router machines, holding the cutter bits into the spindle.
Highly precise CNC ER collet system allows to reduce the vibrations of the tools and motors, which can assure better results and prolong the life of cutter bits and spindles.
How To Correctly Insert A Router Bit In A Spring Chuck Collet?
1. Check both of the collet and the router bit, to make sure that the size of the spring chuck collet for the router bit is correct. The shank diameter of Cutter bits should be accordant with the spring chuck collet’s diameter. Clean the router bit shank to make sure that there is no grime and debris.
2. Insert the spring chuck collet it at a slight angle, then push it into the locknut until it clicks into right position, so that the collet can be successfully engaged with the locking ring of the nut
3. Screw the nut loosely onto the spindle or tool holder cone.
4. Insert the tool to the collet. The tool should fill at least 80% of the collet bore. While don’t allow any of the cutting flute to enter the collet.
5. The collet must be tightened to the correct torque.
6. Tighten the locknut securely on the spindle, and don’t over tighten it.
If you under tighten the collet, the tool my be pulled out of the collet while cutting, especially when you are using an upward spiral flute, potentially damaging the machine bed and at the risk of health and safety.
If you over tighten the collet, you will risk damaging the cutter and misaligning the tool which can result in a poor-quality finished product. At the same time, materials and time will be wasted.
