Speed Control Method for Induction Motors
There are two ways to change the speed of an induction motor:
① Change the terminal voltage of the stator.
② Change the frequency of the stator. The output torque of a new
energy vehicle motor can vary with the terminal voltage of the
stator. Note that changes in voltage will not change the speed
difference corresponding to the maximum torque of the motor.
Advantages of Induction Motors
(1)Small and lightweight.
(2)Easy to achieve high-speed rotation with a speed exceeding
10000r/min.
(3)High operating efficiency at high speed and low torque.
(4)High torque at low speeds and wide speed control range.
(5)High reliability (robustness).
(6)Low manufacturing cost.
(7)Simplification of control devices.
Induction motor is a type of asynchronous motor. As asynchronous
motors are mainly induction motors, they can also be directly
defined as induction motors when defining them. Asynchronous motors not only include induction motors, but also
doubly fed asynchronous motors and AC commutator motors.
Rated value of induction motor
(1) Rated power PN: refers to the mechanical power generated by the
shaft end of the motor when operating at rated state. The unit is
kilowatts (kW).
(2) Rated voltage UN of stator: refers to the line voltage that
should be applied to the stator winding when the motor is operating
at rated state. The unit is volts (v).
(3) Stator rated current IN/"refers to the line current flowing
into the stator winding when the motor operates at rated voltage
and the output power reaches rated power, in amperes (A).
(4) The rated frequency fN refers to the power frequency applied to
the stator, and the power frequency regulation in China is 50 Hz.
(5) Rated speed: The speed of the rotor when a motor is running at
rated state, in revolutions per minute (r/min). In addition to the
above data, sometimes the nameplate also indicates the power
factor, efficiency, temperature rise, rating, etc. of the motor
during rated operation. For wound type motors, data such as rotor
voltage and rotor rated current are often indicated.
