Piston pump (pistonpump) is an important working part of hydraulic and pneumatic transmission, belongs to the positive displacement pump, reciprocating pump.
Piston pumps rely on the reciprocating movement of the piston in
the cylinder, so that the volume of the sealed working chamber
changes to realize the suction, pressure oil. Piston pumps have the
advantages of high rated pressure, compact structure, high
efficiency and easy flow adjustment, widely used in high pressure,
large flow and flow need to be adjusted occasions, such as
hydraulic presses, construction machinery and ships [2]. Piston
pumps are generally divided into single piston pumps, horizontal
piston pumps; according to the different arrangement of the piston
is divided into axial piston pumps, radial piston pumps. It relies
on the reciprocating movement of the plunger in the cylinder to
change the volume of the sealed working chamber to realize oil
suction and pressure. Piston pumps have the advantages of high
rated pressure, compact structure, high efficiency and easy flow
adjustment.
Plunger pumps are widely used in high-pressure, high-flow and flow
need to be adjusted occasions, such as hydraulic machines,
construction machinery and ships.
Hydraulic structure
Hydraulic piston pumps rely on air pressure to supply oil to the hydraulic oil tank. After each start of the machine, the hydraulic oil tank must reach the operating air pressure before the machine can be operated. Straight-axis swash plate piston pumps are divided into two types: pressure supply type and self-priming type. Most pressure supply type hydraulic pumps use an oil tank with air pressure, and some hydraulic pumps themselves have oil replenishment sub-pumps to provide pressure oil to the hydraulic pump inlet. Self-priming hydraulic pumps have a strong self-priming ability and do not require external force to supply oil.

hydraulic systems, such as construction machinery, heavy machinery,
metallurgical equipment, etc. Hydraulic gear pumps are generally
used in medium and low-pressure hydraulic systems, such as machine
tools, agricultural machinery, automobiles, etc.
Specific application examples, hydraulic piston pumps: excavators,
bulldozers, loaders, cranes, hydraulic machine tools, hydraulic
presses, etc.
Application of plunger pump
The primary function of a plunger pump is to convert mechanical energy input from an external source into pressurized energy via the prime mover. It transmits energy to the hydraulic system in the form of pressure or flow. Due to its capability to transport liquids at high pressures, the plunger pump is extensively used in various applications, including oil exploration and development, catalytic reactions in the petrochemical industry, liquid chromatography analysis, supercritical extraction, separation processes, atomic energy research, environmental science, process equipment, experimental setups, and the micro-delivery of various liquids.
