▌Product description
Optical fiber jumper jumper (also known as optical fiber connector) means that both ends of the optical cable are equipped with connector plugs for active connection of the optical path; the plug at one end is called a pigtail. Fiber optic jumpers (fiber optic jumpers/cables) are similar to coaxial cables, except without the mesh shield.
At the center is a glass core for light propagation. In multimode fiber, the diameter of the core is 50 μm to 65 μm, which is roughly equivalent to the thickness of a human hair. The single-mode fiber core has a diameter of 8 μm to 10 μm. The outside of the core is surrounded by a glass coating with a lower refractive index than the core to keep the fiber in the core. There is a thin plastic sheath on the outside to protect the coating.
