1. Bottom hole tap: used for the processing of the internal thread of the wire thread
insert. Since the external thread of the wire thread insert is a
non-standard thread, this type of tap is different in size from the
ordinary M tap.
2. Installation wrench: used to install the wire thread insert in the threaded bottom hole. The basic principle is to make the wire thread thread
sleeve pass through a section of the guide thread to force the
outer diameter of the wire thread thread sleeve to shrink so that
it can be inserted into the bottom hole smoothly. It is divided
into manual type And automatic type.
3. Breaker: The purpose of the breaker is mainly to break the installation
handle of the wire threaded sleeve, especially for the through
hole, the installation handle must be broken.
4. Sleeve remover: used to take out the threaded screw sleeve installed in the
threaded hole of the base. For the screw sleeve that needs to be
replaced after long-term use, and when it needs to be taken out due
to improper installation or thread tripping during installation,
etc. use.
5. Thread plug gauge: used to detect the internal thread bottom hole of the wire thread insert. After the wire thread insert is installed, the accuracy of the internal thread formed depends on the profile manufacturing tolerance of the wire thread insert and the internal thread bottom hole of the wire thread insert. tolerance.

Installation steps
1. Drilling
The drill should be drilled with the size of do in the table. The
depth of the drill should be greater than or equal to L. Be careful
not to drill the hole into a cone shape. Do not use a drill with
severe wear. Do not drop the chips into the place that may cause
damage. After drilling, the countersinking with deburring
properties is allowed, and the depth of the countersinking should
not exceed 0.5. Excessive countersinking is not conducive to the
installation of wire thread inserts.
2. Tapping
Select the special tap taps for ST wire thread inserts with
corresponding thread specifications. The length of the tapping must
exceed the effective thread depth of the wire thread inserts. All
through holes must be tapped. The accuracy of the tapping will
directly affect the tolerance of the final standard internal
thread. With, according to the accuracy of the required internal
thread, the tapping method and lubrication method should be
selected appropriately, and the blind hole should be tapped with
appropriate force to prevent the tap from breaking. After tapping,
the threaded bottom hole must be cleaned. The compressed air spray
gun can be used for cleaning. The blind hole can also be cleaned
with a long spray gun with radial holes, which can be cleaned from
bottom to top, or can be cleaned by direct cleaning.
3. Installation
When using a manual installation tool to install the wire thread
insert, put the wire thread insert into the installation wrench,
insert the mounting handle into the mandrel groove and turn the
handle of the installation wrench so that the wire thread insert is
screwed into the threaded bottom hole through the guide thread on
the installation wrench, and Leave 0.5 to 0.75 turns of empty
thread away from the surface of the base body. A small amount of
wire thread inserts or coarse thread thread inserts of 14*2 or more
can be installed with "T" type slotting or threaded head
recommended tools for installation, but be careful not to apply a
large axial force on the wire thread insert mounting handle.
Prevent "random deduction". Electric or pneumatic installation
wrenches can be used in assembly line assembly or where quick
installation of wire thread inserts is required, but they must be
operated skillfully to avoid wear of thread inserts and bottom
holes. After the wire thread insert is installed, the corresponding
level of plug gauge can be used to test the accuracy grade of the
standard internal threaded hole formed, except for the locking wire
thread insert.
4. Break the mounting handle
When passing through the hole, the wire thread insert mounting
handle should be broken. Generally, use a breaker to align the
mounting handle and use a hammer of about 200g to remove it. For
coarse thread thread inserts above 18*2.5 and 14* For threaded
thread inserts with fine teeth above 1.25, the mounting handle can
be removed by bending up and down with needle-nose pliers.
5. How to remove the wire thread insert
When there is a problem in the installation process of the wire
screw sleeve or the wire screw sleeve needs to be taken out because
of the long use of the wire screw sleeve, the unscrew should be
selected, put the unscrew into the hole of the wire screw sleeve,
and align the handle of the unscrew with a hammer. One click, press
down the handle and rotate it in the opposite direction to take out
the wire thread insert. Keep in mind that the wire thread insert
should not be pulled out directly during the removal process to
avoid damage to the inner threaded bottom hole.
Installation inspection
After the wire thread insert is installed, the threaded hole
tolerance zone depends on the profile manufacturing tolerance of
the wire thread insert and the thread tolerance zone of the wire
thread insert mounting hole. The former is controlled by the wire
thread insert manufacturer, and the latter mainly depends on the
tapping of the wire thread insert mounting hole. The wire precision
usually forms 6H grade. When the precision is high, it can reach 5H
and 4H tolerance bands. The unified thread standard is 2B and 3B.
Corresponding level plug gauges can be used to detect the thread of
the bottom hole.
