Screw Thread Insert For Burning Fireplace Part Inserts For Metal
Introduction
Wire thread insert is a new internal threaded fastener for threaded connection, and screwed into a threaded hole in the fastening member are connected in one, formed in standard thread, bolts (or screws) and then screwed wherein Also known as threaded wire sleeve, wire sleeve for short. It is a spring-like internal and external thread concentric body precisely processed with high-strength, high-precision, and smooth-surface cold-rolled diamond-shaped stainless steel wire. It is mainly used to enhance and protect the internal thread of low-strength materials. The principle is to form an elastic connection between the screw and the thread in the base, eliminate thread manufacturing errors, and improve the connection strength. Wire thread inserts are embedded in threaded holes of low-strength engineering materials such as aluminum, magnesium alloy, cast iron, glass steel, plastics, etc., and can form high-precision internal threads that meet international standards. They have high connection strength, earthquake resistance, impact resistance and wear resistance. Function, and can disperse stress to protect the base thread, greatly extend the service life of the base, and is widely used in electronic applications.
Standard | Size | Length | Circle | Type | Coating |
Metric | M2~M60 | 2mm~90mm | 2.7K~41k | Free-running insert | Titanium/ Cadmium/ Galvanization |
UNC | #2~11/2" | 2.2mm~76.2mm | 2.8k~17.8k | Free-running insert | Titanium/ Cadmium/ Galvanization |
UNF | #4~11/2" | 2.8mm~76.2mm | 3.4k~31.6k | Free-running insert | Titanium/ Cadmium/ Galvanization |
Installation steps
1. Drilling
According to different specifications, choose the corresponding
standard drill bit to drill. The depth of the hole is greater than
or equal to the installation depth of the wire thread insert; be
careful not to drill the hole into a cone, and the chips do not
fall into it. After drilling, the counterbore should not exceed 0.4
pitch depth, because too large counterbore is not conducive to
screwing in the wire thread insert.
2. Tapping
Use special taps for wire thread inserts marked with the specified
thread specifications for tapping. The length of the tapping must
exceed the length of the wire thread insert. For through holes, all
taps must be tapped; the accuracy of the tapping determines the
tolerance zone of the final standard internal screw hole. The user
should choose the tapping method and lubrication appropriately, and
the blind hole tapping should be applied with appropriate force to
prevent the tap from breaking. After tapping, the threaded holes
should be cleaned. Generally, a compressed air spray gun should be
used. For blind holes, a long spray gun with radial holes should be
used to clean from bottom to top. The threaded holes can also be
cleaned by cleaning. When the precision of the threaded hole is
high, use a special wire thread insert bottom hole plug gauge for
inspection.
3. Installation
Under normal circumstances, the manual installer is used to install
the wire thread insert. Put the wire thread insert into the
installation tool, insert the mounting handle into the guide rod
groove and turn the handle of the installation tool to screw the
wire thread insert into the screw hole, and leave 0.25-0.75 circles
of empty thread away from the surface. When installing a small
amount of wire thread inserts and when installing coarse thread
thread inserts above M14×2, you can use "T" type slotting or
threaded head simple tools to install, and be careful not to apply
a large axial force on the wire thread insert mounting handle To
prevent "random deduction". After the wire thread insert is
installed, in order to check the accuracy grade of the formed
standard internal threaded hole, the corresponding grade plug gauge
can be used for inspection.
4. Remove the handle
For wire threaded sleeves with broken grooves, the mounting handle
should be removed after screwing into the screw hole, and a handle
removal tool is required. In the case of through holes, the wire
thread insert mounting handle should be broken. Generally, use a
punch to align the mounting handle and use a hammer of about 200g
to remove it. For coarse thread wire thread inserts above M18×2.5
and M14×1.25 The above fine-tooth steel wire thread inserts can be
broken by bending the mounting handle up and down with needle-nose
pliers. Then remove the broken mounting handle from the screw hole.
Note: If you use an automatic breaker, you only need to use the
punch of the automatic breaker to press the wire thread sleeve
installed in the bottom hole with appropriate force to break the
installation handle.
5. Disassembly
Extend the tip of the remover into the hole of the wire sleeve,
press the handle firmly, and turn it counterclockwise to remove the
wire sleeve.
