The filter basket/filter cartridge is made of 100% 304 stainless steel. The size of the stainless steel screen is 300 or 400 microns. Based on the actual experience of the brewer, this seems to be an excellent place to contain hops.

For pelleted hops, whole leaf hops are preferably 300 microns, and most preferably 400 microns. 400 microns can also be used for granular hops, but 300 microns tends to hold dust better. These stainless steel filters are perfect for holding hops when brewing beer.
