A curtain wall is defined as a thin, usually aluminum-framed wall filled with glass.
The frame is attached to the structure of the building and does not
bear the floor or roof load of the building.
Wind and gravity loads are transferred from the curtain wall to the
building structure, usually at the floor line.
Curtain walls can be classified by their method of fabrication and installation into the following general categories:

According to the different ways of glass curtain wall support structure, it will be divided into the following categories:

How to choose the design.
1,According to the requirements of the design
(1), the drawings should be complete and detailed, and the
expression should be standardized.
Construction drawing descriptions and construction requirements,
nodal pattern drawings, pre-buried anchorage node calculations,
curtain wall keel frame in the vertical load, horizontal load under
the action of stress deformation and other calculations, lightning
protection, fire prevention, drainage measures must be complete.
(2), curtain wall design should be taken to prevent rain leakage performance measures, glass curtain wall column and beam cross-sectional form should be designed according to the principle of equal pressure, in parts prone to leakage should be set up to flow to the outdoor drainage holes, in parts prone to condensation should be set up condensate drainage pipes, the production of components in strict accordance with the requirements of the drilling of drainage holes, open part of the sealing material should be neoprene or silicone rubber products.
(3), the glass curtain wall should be set at the contact of different metal materials insulating gasket (general thickness lmm) or take other anti-corrosion measures, the size of the insulating sheet is not less than the contact area to ensure that the aluminum alloy column and different steel connectors direct contact, column and beam contact should be set at the flexible gasket.
In the glass curtain wall of modern high-rise buildings, the
combination of low-e coated glass and ordinary glass, compartments
filled with dry air insulating glass is used.
Insulating glass is a good heat insulation, sound insulation,
anti-frost, moisture, wind pressure strength, beautiful and
applicable, and can reduce the self-weight of the building of new
building materials.
It is made of two (or three) pieces of glass, using a
high-strength, high-gas-tight composite binder, the glass and the
aluminum alloy frame containing the desiccant bonding, made of

According to experimental testing, in winter, when the outdoor
temperature is -10 ℃, the temperature in front of the indoor
single-layer glass window is -2 ℃, while the temperature in front
of the insulating glass window is 13 ℃;.
And in the summer, double insulating glass can block 90% of the
solar radiation heat; although the sun can still pass through the
glass curtain wall, but the sun will not feel hot on the body.
Therefore, the use of insulating glass curtain wall room can be
warm in winter and cool in summer, greatly improving the living
environment.
