A. Direct reflection fingerprint imager

a. Purpose

Direct reflection fingerprint imager integrates directional mirror, light source pad, battery, lens hood, camera, macro lens and other components. Shelter the fingerprint with the lower opening of the imager, turn on the power to take photos in directly reflected light. Suitable for quick photography of latent fingerprint on light-colored smooth surface.

b. Working principle

The background directionally reflects the incident light, and all the reflected light is in the direction of directional reflection, and there is no reflected light in other directions. The fingerprint diffusely reflects the incident light, so the reflected light in all directions, and so is the energy. When viewed in the direction of background directional reflection, all the light reflected by the background enters the lens, and only a small part of fingerprint-reflected light enters the lens. The result seen through the lens is the dark fingerprint in a bright background.

B. Dark field fingerprint imager

a. Purpose

Dark field fingerprint imager integrates camera obscura, paraxial light source, battery, camera, macro lens and other components. Shelter the fingerprint with the lower opening of the imager, turn on the power to take photos in dark field. Suitable for quick photography of latent fingerprint on dark smooth surface.

b. Working principle

The background reflects the incident light directionally. All the reflected light appears in the direction of directional reflection. The fingerprint mainly reflects the incident light diffusely. The fingerprint reflected light has a higher light intensity in the direction of background directional reflection. The smaller the angle from the direction of directional reflection, the larger the reflected light intensity, vise versa.

When observed in a direction deflected from the background directional reflection, the background-reflected light strays from the lens and the minor-hardlight reflected by the fingerprint enters the lens. The result seen through the lens is the bright fingerprint in a dim background.

C.Grazing incidence fingerprint imager

a. Purpose

Grazing incidence fingerprint imager integrates camera obscura, grazing incident light source, battery, camera, macro lens and other components. Shelter the fingerprint with the lower opening of the imager, turn on the power to take photos in grazing incident light. Suitable for quick photography of dust fingerprint on smooth surface.

b. Working principle

The background directionally reflects the grazing incident light, and all the reflected light is in the direction of directional reflection close to the bottom surface, and there is no reflected light in other directions. The dust fingerprint diffusely reflects the incident light, so the reflected light in all directions, and so is the energy.

When observed vertically downwards, the background-reflected light is emitted close to the bottom and strays from the lens, and the light reflected by the fingerprint upwards enters the lens. The result seen through the lens is the bright dust fingerprint in a dim background.
