A Multi-‐Media Filter is used to reduce the level of suspended solids (turbidity) in
incoming feed water. Suspended solids consist of small particles such as silt, clay,
grit, organic matter, algae and other microorganisms.
Advantages of multi-media filters
Multi-media filtration permits delivery of high quality filtered water at much faster flow
rates, as compared to a conventional sand filter. In a conventional sand
filter, lighter and finer sand particles are found at the top of
the filter bed, and coarser, heavier sand particles remain at the
bottom after backwashing.
Quartz sand filter
It is a filter material with quartz sand as filler. Which is conducive to removing impurities in water.
It also has the advantages of small filtration resistance, large specific surface area, strong acid and alkali resistance, and good pollution resistance. The unique advantage of quartz sand filter is that it realizes the adaptive operation of the filter by optimizing the design of filter material and filter. Activated carbon filter

colloid, pigment and heavy metal ions in water, and also has the
effect of reducing COD.The SDI value of RO inlet water can be further reduced to ensure
SDI < 5 and TOC < 2.oppm.
