Measuring Principle
1) Magnetic method (F Probe)
Measuring Non-magnetic coatings on magnetic substrates (such as
aluminum, copper, rubber coatings on steel, iron, alloy and hard
magnetic steel substrates).
When the probe contact with cover,measuring probe and magnetic
metal matrix form a closed magnetic circuit, as a result of the
existence of a
nonmagnetic layer, make the magnetic circuit magnetic resistance
change, can be derived by measuring the change the thickness of
coating.
2) Eddy current method (N Probe)
Measuring Non-conductive coatings on Non-magnetic basis metals
(such as enamel, plastic, rubber, paint coatings on copper,
aluminum, zinc, tinsubstrates).
By using high frequency alternating current in the coil produces an
electromagnetic field,when the probe contact with cover,Metal
substrate eddy current is produced,and feedback to a coil in a
probe,Derived by measuring the size of the feedback effect of the
coating thickness.

Test
Power on the gauge. Press the probe steadily on a coating layer to
be measured. The reading on the display is the thickness of the
coating layer.
To take the next measurement, please lift the probe to more than 3
centimeter and then repeat the step above .
Note: Based on the testing principle of Magnetic / Eddy current (
Fe / NFe) , the speed of pressing the probe on the coating layer
should be appropriate. If too slow, it will cause man-made testing
errors.
Unit conversion
Switch between μm / mil : Long-press the power key (about 6
seconds) till "UNIT " showed on the display.
Test mode conversion
Switch between Single / Continuous: Long-press the power key (about
8 seconds) till SC showed on the display.
Note: Under Single test mode, the symbol appears only during measurement.
Under Continuous test mode, the symbol appears all the time.
Power off
1, 2x1.5V AAA alkaline battery.
2, Long-press the power key for 2 seconds to turn off.
The gauge automatically turns off if no operation within 60
seconds.
3, Battery replacement
When the battery voltage less than approx. 2.3V , the battery
symbol will appear on the display.
Then, slide the Battery Cover away from the gauge and remove the
batteries. Install new batteries correctly into the case.
Note: If the gauge is not to be used for any extended period,
remove batteries off.
