General
Advanced Metering Infrastructure(AMI) is the technology of
automatically collecting data from energy metering devices and
transferring that data to a central database by communication
technology for remote control and analyzing.
AMI system is composed of management software, remote communication
channel, power management terminal, regional summary meter, local
communication channel, user energy meter and other equipment. Power
companies can build AMI system to replace the manual meter reading
to save human resources, reduce meter reading costs and improve
meter reading efficiency and success rate. The AMI system reduces
the error rate, the electricity loss and eliminates the false meter
reading by personnel. The AMI system also can monitor the status of
the users and find the abnormal information to alarm in time.
It also collects data from regional summary meter and the regional
line loss can be calculated. The software system is developed by
Java and it can be deployed on Windows, Unix, and other major
operating systems. The system is developed based on
Enterprise-class Jave EE standards,a three-tier technical
architecture(client /middleware server/database server) as the
basis for the system. The system has excellent openness,
scalability, flexibility and high reliability. Many advanced
computer and communication technologies are used on this AMI system
to satisfy the needs of power companies in different environments.
System advantages
1. Flexibility of configuration:
1.1Function modularization: It can customize the equipment and
separately deploy the modules according to the size of the
management scale.
1.2 The function is hierarchically designed, which can guarantee
clear logic, convenient maintenance and stable operation.
2. Diversity of management:
Managing range covers the different types of energy consumed
objects, such as Substations, Users with special transformer,
Distribution transformers, Residential Users, etc.. It can
configure the relevant managing functions according to the type of
object.
3. Compatibility of equipment:
The users can choose the appropriate mode of network(such as GPRS,
PLC, WSN or 485), the collection equipment(such as various energy
meters or concentrators) and the operation protocol of equipment
according to their own situation. The system can provide support or
expansion.
Main functions
1. Maintenance of system operation;
Management of authority; Management of equipment's archives.
2. Collection of equipment's data. The collection plan can be
configured.
3. Electric Data analysis and power grid quality analysis.
4. Comprehensive line loss analysis.
5. Energy measurement equipment monitoring.
6. Remote control (electricity cut-off/switch-on).
7. Electric data publishing.
8. Connection interface with other system.
