【Sodium Citrate Tube Description

Sodium citrate blood collection tube is also known as PT tube or coagulation tube. Citrate tube is used to collect venous blood for coagulation tests. Sodium citrate blood tube have a buffered sodium citrate solution of 0.109 mol/l (3.2%) or 0.129 mol/l (3.8%).
Usage: to research the hemostatic system.
Specimen: plasma.
Conditions of centrifugation: 2000 g for 10-15 minutes.
Immediately after taking the blood into the tube with citrate it must be carefully mixed at least 3-4 times to prevent micro clots.

【Sodium Citrate Tube Use Instruction】


Step 1: Choose the right specification pen-type blood collection needle and take off the white cover of the vacutainer needle.

Step 2: Screw the tube needle into the needle holder.

Step 3: Take off the color cover of the needle and choose the human proper vein to puncture. Insert the sodium citrate vacutainer tubes into the holder and press to puncture the tube stopper.

Step 4: After the vacuum in the tube used up, blood will stop flowing into the tube. Take out the sodium citrate vacutainer from the holder.

Step 5: Right after the blood tube taken out, turn it upside down 5-6 times to mix the blood and additive inside completely. Intense turning is strictly prohibited.



Step1: Screw tight the connection between tube needle and the soft pipe to prevent leakage of vacuum or blood during the blood collection.
Step 2: Choose the human proper vein to puncture and blood flow could be seen.
Step 3: Insert another side of the venous blood collection needle into the tube stopper.
Step 4: When 0.5ml short of the rated blood volume in the final tube, take out the needle from the vein. Take off the needle from tube after blood in the soft pipe all flows into the blood draw tube.
Step 5: Right after the vacutainer needle taken out, turn the citrate blood collection tubes upside down 5-6 times to mix the blood and additive inside completely. Intense turning is strictly prohibited.
