Fluted Centralizer Wireline Tool String
I. Introduction
The fluted centralizer is used to centralize wireline tool strings inside the tubing, during operations in deviated wells. The fluted centralizer is positioned above the running or pulling tool in the tool string, and its OD is sized to suit the tubing. This procedure also allows the centralizer to be used as a drift or gauge,in addition to centering the tool string.
II. General Technical Parameters:
Tubing OD | Fishing neck | Connection | Size | PN. |
2-3/8″ | 1.375″ | 15/16-10UN | 1.875″ | W0*-0*.** |
2-7/8″ | 1. 375″ | 15/16-10UN | 2.25″ | W0*-0*.** |
3-1/2″ | 2.313″ | 1-9/16-10UN | 2.81″ | W0*-0*.** |
4-1/2″ | 2.313″ | 1-9/16-10UN | 3.75″ | W0*-0*.** |
Note: More customized parts are available upon request.
III. Structural features:
The fluted centralizer has a simple structure, its top has standard outer fishing neck and external thread (or quick male joint) to connect the top tool string, and its bottom has standard inner screw thread (or quick female joint) to connect the bottom tool string.
The middle OD of fluted centralizer is larger than the diameters of both ends and larger than OD of other downhole tools, and there is a launder out of it (hence the name) so that the fluid passes while entering the well to avoid crown drilling.
