Biaxial Plastic Geogrid Introduction
Geogrid is one of the main geosynthetics. Compared with other
geosynthetics, it has unique properties and efficacy. It is usually
used as reinforced material of reinforced soil structure or
composite material. Geogrids are divided into four categories:
Plastic geogrids, steel plastic geogrids, glass fiber geogrids and
polyester warp knitted geogrids. Grid is a two-dimensional grid or
three-dimensional grid with a certain height, which is made of
polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride and other high molecular
polymers by thermoplastic or molding. When used in civil
engineering, it is called geogrid.
In the process of manufacturing, the polymer molecules will be
reoriented with the heating extension process, which strengthens
the bonding force between the molecular chains and achieves the
purpose of improving the strength. Its elongation is only 10-15
times that of the original sheet. If carbon black and other
materials are added into the geogrid, it will have better acid,
alkali and isochronous properties.
