Brief Introduction of Geocell Confinement System
Geotextile is a kind of polyester needle punched non-woven fabric, which is a permeable geotextile with three-dimensional pore structure formed by repeated needling in nonwoven process. According to different raw materials, it can be divided into staple non-woven fabric and polyester filament geotextile. The raw materials of both are polyester staple fiber or polypropylene staple fiber and polyester chip particle new material respectively. They play a great "power" in various fields such as roads, highways, railways, airport runways, embankment and slope protection.
Geogrid System Characteristic
So why can geotextiles be used to prevent cracks in highway
reconstruction?
1. What we need to know is that the cracks are caused by the
tensile stress of cement and asphalt overlay when the temperature
decreases, and the existence of geotextile can reduce the tensile
stress under the asphalt surface.
2. Geotextile has good ductility, so its widening range can be
increased. When shear occurs at the joint of highway, the existence
of geotextile can alleviate it and play a transitional role.
3. Geotextile has a good anti-seepage effect, and geotextile has a
good porosity. However, due to the adhesion of asphalt, it is
expected to play the role of anti-seepage and water separation, so
as to prevent the water of the pavement from penetrating into the
subgrade, so as to protect the subgrade and prolong its service
life.
Laying method

The installation of filament or short filament geotextile usually adopts several methods of lapping, stitching and welding. The width of stitching and welding is generally more than 0.1M, and the overlapping width is generally more than 0.2m. Geotextiles that may be exposed for a long time shall be welded or stitched.
