High Temperature Cable Thermocouple Compensation Wire Type T Thermocouple Extension Wire
T-type thermocouple compensation wire is a special wire used to
connect T-type thermocouples with temperature measuring
instruments. It is mainly used to extend the cold end of the
thermocouple to compensate for the measurement error caused by the
change of the cold end temperature. It has excellent thermoelectric
performance and stability, and can maintain the same thermoelectric
electromotive force characteristics as T-type thermocouples within
a certain temperature range (such as -60℃ to 260℃).
T-type compensation wire is usually made of copper-copper-nickel
alloy material, and there are many options for insulation layer and
sheath materials, such as polyvinyl chloride (PV),
polyperfluoroethylene propylene (FEP) and soluble
polytetrafluoroethylene (PFA) to meet the use requirements in
different environments. Its common models include TX-G (general
use), TX-H (general use), TX-GS (precision general use) and TX-HS
(precision heat-resistant use).
This compensation wire is widely used in the automated temperature
measurement system of petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electric
power and other industries, which can effectively improve the
temperature measurement accuracy and ensure the stability and
reliability of the measurement system.

Copper-copper-nickel thermocouple (T-type thermocouple), also known
as copper-constantan thermocouple, is an optimal low-cost metal
thermocouple for measuring low temperatures. Its positive electrode
(TP) is pure copper, and its negative electrode (TN) is a
copper-nickel alloy, often called constantan. It is compatible with
constantan EN of nickel-chromium-constantan, but not with
constantan JN of iron-constantan, although they are both called
constantan.
The measurement temperature range of copper-copper-nickel
thermocouple is -200~350°C.
Material and structure: T-type compensation wire is usually made of
copper (positive electrode) and copper-nickel alloy (negative
electrode), and the insulation layer is red (positive electrode)
and white (negative electrode).
Temperature range: The operating temperature range of the
compensation wire is -40℃ to 70℃ or 105℃ for ordinary grade, and
-65℃ to 200℃ or 260℃ for heat-resistant grade.
Accuracy level: It is divided into ordinary grade and precision
grade, and the precision grade has higher measurement accuracy.
Anti-interference ability: Some compensation wires adopt shielding
design, which can effectively reduce electromagnetic interference.
Q1: What is the function of T-type thermocouple compensation wire?
A1: T-type compensation wire is used to extend the cold end of the
thermocouple and move the reference end of the thermocouple from
the high temperature area to a place with a more stable ambient
temperature to improve the temperature measurement accuracy.
Q2: What is the material of T-type compensation wire?
A2: The positive electrode material of T-type compensation wire is
copper, and the negative electrode material is copper-nickel alloy.
Q3: What is the temperature range of T-type compensation wire?
A3: The operating temperature range of T-type compensation wire is:
Ordinary grade: -40℃~70℃ or -40℃~105℃;
Heat-resistant grade: -65℃~200℃ or -65℃~260℃.
