Ball nose end mill has a ball shape end, has the function of semi finish milling or fine milling of curved surface and circular groove. The small diameter ball nose end mill can finish mill small chamfer of steep surface and straight wall. Most of the ball nose end mills are 2 flutes.In some situations, 4 flute ball nose end mill are needed.

Moreover, some metal chips remain in the chip removal groove of the 4 flute ball nose end mill during milling. And the outer spray coolant could not completely spray to the chip removal slot hence reduce the effect of the spray coolant.
