Digital Robot 2000A is an ‘off-line’ book binding solution for print-on-demand printing. It features on fully automatic adjustments through touch screen, short changeover time for varied binding formats, exchangeable EVA gluing tank and PUR gluing tank (option), which makes Digital Robot 2000A an ideal post-press solution for short run and print-on-demand digital printing.

Configuration 1: Digital Robot 2000A Binder

Digital Robot 2000A is a fully automatic four-clamp perfect binder with maximum mechanical speed of 2000 cycles per hour. It is the latest state-of-the-art innovation , which offers a top quality adhesive binding solution with convenient operation, short make-ready time and high flexibility.

Quick Setup and High Automation: All setups can be done automatically just by inputting data into the touch screen or via scanning the bar code information of the book block and the cover.

Fast Automatic Changeover: Automatic job changeover can be accurately completed in as short as 10s for changing book thickness and book formats at the fastest speed.

Large Binding Compatibility: Digital Robot 2000A offers strong binding for different kinds of book blocks, such as loose-sheet book block, cold-glued book blocks, sewn book blocks, etc.

Optional PUR Gluing Station: Changeover between EVA and PUR gluing application systems can be easily finished in just a few minutes.

Soft Book Lay-down System: The special designed soft book lay-down system can maximally protect the just bound book spine from any slight deformation.

1. Twin Feeder

Up to four compact twin feeders with large capacity flat pile hoppers can be equipped to ensure large and consistent output. Signatures with low/high folio laps or even laps in a wide range of formats can be opened by grippers or vacuum system. 1:1 or 1:2 speed modes can be chosen.

2. Folder Feeder

After the cover is scored along a predetermined line, it is folded along the scored line, fed onto the gathering chain and transported to the saddle stitcher.

3. Stitching Section

Up to four Deluxe stitching heads can be mounted on the Pearls-8000. Honher stitching heads are offered as an option. During operation the stitching heads are traveling back and forth together with the signatures.

4. Three-knife Trimmer

The three-knife trimmer is quick and easy to set up using handwheels with position indicators. Products are trimmed precisely and reliably right from the start-up. First the head and foot is trimmed, and then the book is delivered to the front cut knife where a precise side cut is made.

5. Stream Delivery

The completely trimmed books are gently carried by the transport belt into the stream delivery process.
