A mud system, also known as oil drilling mud system is a control
system specially desifned fotr oil gas drilling rigs. The system
maintains the solids control and the overall performance of
different quipment installed for the drilling fluid. The system is
a single unit assembly of the well construction that remains
connected with the wellbore in the drilling operation. A mud system
is specially designed to operate according to the wellbore
conditions.

1. Shale shaker, first-phase solids control equipment, separates
the solid part of the drilling fluids greater than 75um and achieve
dehydration capabilities under mechanical vibration principle.
2. Vacuum degasser, used for oil and gas drilling solids control,
removes the mud, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and natural gas
from the mud.
3. Mud cleaner, second-phase and third-phase solid control
equipment for drilling mud barite recovery aggravated by pressure
centrifugal sedimentation separation of solid particles larger than
15um above .
4. Centrifugal pump, also known as mixing pump, is ideal for mud
supplying and jet mixing equipment.
5. Decanter centrifuge, depending on the treatment effect can be
achieved with a medium or high speed centrifuges arranged in series
and parallel manner 2um more subtle separation of solid particles.
6. Mixing devices include hopper, mud gun, mud agitator and mud jet
mixing system.
As for the mud system in CBM, they should be equipped with in
accordance with customer’s practical solid-liquid separation demand
in application, using the most reasonable design to meet customer
demand for recycled fluids or solid-liquid separation.
1. Drilling fluid from drill hole will feeding into shale shaker
buffer box by pipeline, the shaker can install shaker screen mesh
API 35 to API 120 to separate larger drilling cuttings. Fluids part
will drop into sand trap through mesh screen panel.
2. drilling mud from sand trap will over flow into next compartment
and vacuum degasser will suction mud to degasser and treated mud
will overflow into degasser compartment.
3. Desander feeding pump will suck mud from degasser compartment
and feed into desander cyclone for 47 – 76 micron separation.
Solids part will drop from desander nozzle and fluids over flow
into desander compartment.
4. Another will pick up mud from desander compartment and feed
desilter cyclone, solids part drop through desilter nozzle and
fluids over flow into desilter compartment.
5. Submersible slurry pump or screw pump then transfer mud from
desilter compartment into decanter centrifuge for 2 – 7 micron
separate and clean mud flow into centrifuge compartment
6. All tanks compartment after desilter compartment we name as
clean mud, mixing pump can suction or discharge to any of the clean
mud tank for mud transfer or new mud mixing.
