Centrifugal Slurry Semi-Submerged Pump is an ideal equipment to transfer mud from mud pit or mud storage tank to feed shale shaker or tank. The vertical design makes the pump a best option for mud pit fluids transfer.
Many types of pumps are used for pumping slurries, but the most common slurry pump is the centrifugal pump. A slurry pump is a centrifugal type, specifically designed for hydraulic conveyancing of abrasive and often corrosive solid particles within a carrier fluid.
Centrifugal Slurry Semi-Submerged Pump by AIPU industrial slurry pumps are non-clog pumps designed for high solids industrial pumping applications. Our patented pump technology outperforms all centrifugal, vortex, and positive displacement pumps in a variety of the most difficult pumping applications.
For the pump feeding centrifuge, we need to consider the centrifuge
flow rate. For the pump feeding shaker in the HDD mud system, we
should consider the whole mud system flow rate. And then the
submersible length is another issue that affects configuration or
design. We can supply a pump to meet submersible depths up to 3m.
How do achieve this? By extension, the pipe is connected to the
input port.
If the pump installs onto the mud tank, there is a level plate on
the pump under the motor, the plate is designed to bolt on the tank
top. The pump can be installed into a mud pit as well with a built
simple platform to bolt the pump level plate. The vertical design
is maximized to reduce its footprint especially when it’s installed
on the tank top. With the adjustable size, the ultra-recessed rotor
can pass the largest material in the industry, ensuring maximum
uptime when pumping large solids.

Self-suction design is maximum increased pump efficiency. The
submersible pump is a highly effective pump that compares
centrifugal pump, screw pump, diaphragm pump, or multiple
centrifugal pumps. All bearings above fluids make pump-free
maintenance nearly zero cost for spares. Depth from level plate to
pump suction point is customized from 1.0 to 1.8 meters. Standard
depth 1.3 meters without special request.
The submersible slurry pump is another kind of centrifugal pump.
But it's more durable and strong than a common pump. It can
transfer many different kinds of hard materials, including sand,
cement, particles, shale, etc. So, it meets many requirements in
different industries. The main structure includes an impeller, pump
case, shaft, bearing, motor, supporting frame, etc.
Handling capacity is from 30m³/h to 120m³/h. The pump performance
includes flow rate, heat, and pressure. They will affect each other
on the performance.
Drilling fluids are transferred to desilter cones by a centrifugal
pump from the desander tank or compartment. The Desilter cone is
fed by a desilter pump with fluids out of the desander. Under pump
pressure, the fluids run into cones and flow with centrifugal
force. Then the heavy particles will deposit down and push out of
the cone drop in Apex. Particles larger than 15 microns will be
separated from drilling mud.
For HDD and other mud system in civil construction, the slurry pump
can be set over a mud pit on a frame or support bar. The pump inlet
port is submerged in a pit or tank to transfer drilling mud into a
shaker. While in the oil drilling mud system, the slurry pump will
be set on a desilter tank or compartment. If we have 2 sets of
centrifuges, then 2 sets of slurry pumps are requested. Some users
prefer the screw pump since the screw pump is the progressive pump.
But the submersible slurry pump is more durable and high resistant
to sand or cuttings in the drilling fluids. Moreover, the bearing
and connection between the motor and pump body are above the liquid
level, so there is no need to maintain the pump. Higher efficiency
and lower cost.
