Such micromachining techniques include lithography, chemical etching, photolithography-injection molding (LIGA), diamond cutting, wire cutting and ion beam processing. Sintered mesh porous micro heat exchangers are fabricated using powder metallurgy. The processing of microchannels at large scales is significantly different to that of microchannels at microscale, with the former requiring more efficient processing and manufacturing techniques.
