I. Overview of Inconel 718 (N07718) nickel-based alloy:
Inconel 718 alloy is a nickel-based superalloy reinforced by γ
"phase center-centered γ" and face-centered cubic γ ′ phase
precipitation. It has good comprehensive performance in the
temperature range of -253 ~ 700 ℃, and the yield strength below 650
℃ is at high deformation temperature. The alloy is the first, and
has good fatigue resistance, radiation resistance, oxidation
resistance, corrosion resistance, as well as good processability,
welding performance and long-term structural stability. It can
manufacture various parts with complex shapes in aerospace, nuclear
energy, In the petroleum industry, it has been used in a wide range
of temperatures.
Another feature of the alloy is that the alloy structure is
particularly sensitive to hot working processes. Mastering the
phase precipitation and dissolution in the alloy and the
interrelationship between the structure and the process and
performance, it is possible to formulate reasonable and feasible
technological procedures for different application requirements.
Can obtain a variety of parts that can meet different strength
levels and use requirements. The varieties supplied include
forgings, forging rods, rolled rods, cold-rolled rods, round cakes,
ring pieces, plates, strips, wires, tubes and so on. It can be made
into parts such as disks, rings, blades, shafts, fasteners and
elastic elements, sheet structural parts, casings, etc. for
long-term use in aviation.
The chemical composition of this alloy is divided into 3
categories: standard composition, high-quality composition, and
high-purity composition, see Table 1-1. The high-quality
ingredients reduce carbon and increase niobium on the basis of
standard ingredients, thereby reducing the amount of niobium
carbide, reducing fatigue sources and increasing the number of
strengthening phases, and improving fatigue resistance and material
strength. At the same time reduce harmful impurities and gas
content. High-purity ingredients reduce the content of sulfur and
harmful impurities on the basis of high-quality standards, and
improve the purity and comprehensive performance of materials.
Inconel718 alloy for nuclear energy applications needs to control
the boron content (the other element composition is unchanged), and
the specific content is determined by the supplier and the buyer
through consultation. When ω (B) ≤ 0.002%, it is distinguished from
the Inconel718 alloy used in the aerospace industry, and the alloy
grade is Inconel718A.
