The Production of Plastic Strapping
There are various types of plastic strapping.the diagrams contain the production process of the two most important kinds,namely PP
and PET.in the case of PP the most important componenet is a granulate of polypropylene;in the case of PET this is a recycled PET material
( for example from PET - bottles or cassettes) .
The raw materials are loaded by a hopper,after which it is forced through a worm wheel.this changes the raw material into a syrup-like substance.
the substance exits a mold as a flat strip,or in multiple strips and is guided through a water bowl for cooling.the material is then reinforced through a water bowl for cooling.the material is then reinforced throug heating.this streching ensures that the molecule are oriented in one direction and is thus the deciding factor for stretch and strength properties of the material.in case of PET,a second stretching is conducted without heating. finally, before rolling up,the strip may be shaped and heated and cooled one last time.this is also called annealing which serves to homogenize the material and to relieve tensions.

unrecoverable dead stretch and inability to return to its original
length.
