Process flow of Ultrafiltration Water Treatment System
Raw water → original water tank (supplied by the buyer)→ raw water
pump → disc filter → activated carbon filter →5μm security filter →
ultrafiltration device → pure water tank (supplied by the buyer)→

In the ultrafiltration process, the influencing factors of
ultrafiltration efficiency mainly include the following aspects:
① Operating pressure. In the process of ultrafiltration, a gel
layer is formed at the interface of the membrane. When the
operating pressure increases to a certain value, the permeable flux
will not increase with the increase of the pressure, so the
operating pressure should be appropriate. Too high pressure will
not only not increase the permeable flux, but also compact or
damage the membrane. The actual ultrafiltration operation should be
carried out near the critical permeable flux, where the operating
pressure is about 0.5 ~ 0.6MPa.
② Feed liquid velocity. Increasing the flow velocity of material
and liquid can aggravate the turbulence of liquid flow on the
membrane surface, which is conducive to slowing down the
concentration polarization and improving the processing capacity of
the equipment. However, if the flow velocity of material and liquid
is too high, the operating cost of the system will increase with
the increase of energy consumption. Therefore, the flow velocity of
material and liquid should be controlled within the appropriate
range. In general, the flow rate of ultrafiltration liquid is 1 ~
3m/s.
③ Pretreatment of material liquid. In order to ensure the normal
and stable operation of the ultrafiltration system and improve the
ultrafiltration efficiency, it is necessary to pretreat the
material liquid before ultrafiltration. The main object of material
liquid pretreatment is suspended matter and pH value, pretreatment
method according to the material liquid properties and needs to be
selected, can be used accordingly filtration, chemical coagulation
and pH adjustment, disinfection, activated carbon adsorption and
other methods.
(4) Operating temperature. The operating temperature of the system
mainly affects the viscosity of the operating liquid. Under the
condition that the material of the film and the processed liquid
allow, increasing the operating temperature is conducive to
increasing the mass transfer efficiency and improving the permeable
flux.
⑤ membrane cleaning. When the permeable flux of the membrane
attenuates to a certain extent, it is necessary to clean. Membrane
cleaning methods include hydraulic cleaning, pharmaceutical
cleaning and mechanical cleaning, which should be determined
according to the properties of membrane and treatment material
liquid and the type of membrane components.
