Features:
1. The material has high strength and light weight
Steel has high strength and high modulus of elasticity. Compared
with concrete and wood, its density and yield strength ratio is
relatively low, so under the same stress conditions, steel
structure has the characteristics of small section, light weight,
easy to transport and installation, suitable for large span, high
height, large load structure.
2. The steel has good toughness, good plasticity, uniform material
and high structural reliability
Suitable for bearing impact and dynamic load, with good seismic
performance. The internal structure of steel is uniform and close
to the isotropic homoplast. The actual performance of steel

3. High degree of mechanization of steel structure manufacturing

4. Good sealing performance of steel structure

5. Steel structure heat resistant, not fire resistant
When the temperature is below 150℃, the properties of steel change
little. Therefore, steel structure is suitable for high temperature
workshops, but when the surface of the structure is exposed to
thermal radiation of about 150℃, heat insulation plate should be
used for protection. When the temperature is between 300℃ and 400℃,
the strength and elastic modulus of steel decrease obviously. When
the temperature is about 600℃, the strength of steel tends to zero.
In buildings with special fire protection requirements, the steel
structure must be protected by refractory materials to improve the
fire resistance grade.
6. Poor corrosion resistance of steel structure
Especially in the environment of wet and corrosive media, it is
easy to rust. General steel structures need to be derusted,
galvanized or painted, and require regular maintenance. For
offshore platform structures in seawater, special measures such as
"zinc block anode protection" should be taken to prevent corrosion.
7. Low carbon, energy saving, green environmental protection,
reusable
Demolition of steel structures produces little construction waste,
and steel can be recycled.
Application program:
Compared with ordinary reinforced concrete structure, steel
structure has the advantages of good homogeneity, high strength,
fast construction speed, good seismic performance and high recovery
rate. The strength and elastic modulus of steel are many times
higher than that of masonry and concrete. Under the same
conditions, the weight of the steel member is lighter. From the
point of view of damage, steel structure has a large precursor of
deformation in advance, belongs to ductile failure structure, can

The prefabrication and assembly of steel components are carried out
on steel platforms according to the installation sequence and
technological requirements, and the welding quality must be
guaranteed.
The distance between the joint of splicing flange plate and the
joint of section steel web should be greater than 200mm. The
splicing length of the flange plate shall not be less than 2 times
the width of the plate; The stitching width and length of web
should not be less than 300mm and 600mm respectively.
In order to facilitate welding and ensure welding quality, butt
welding should be carried out on the steel platform on the ground
as far as possible according to the size of the construction
drawing, and butt welding should be carried out on the stiffening
plate, connecting plate, backing plate and beam (beam) on the
column and beam as far as possible.
In addition to fabrication and assembly of precast steel members on
steel platforms in accordance with construction drawings and
specifications, manufacturability of field installation and
variation in installation dimensions should also be considered.
