NdFeB Sintered Magnets


Sintered neodymium magnets are mainly composed of an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron, forming a Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystal structure. Neodymium magnets have the strongest magnetic properties on the market today. The magnetism will vary depending on the alignment and size and shape during compaction. They are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and grades. The new magnets can be used in a variety of applications, including high-performance motors, brushless DC motors, magnetic separation, magnetic resonance imaging, sensors, switches, and speakers.

Maximum service temperature and corrosion


The new magnets have some limitations due to their corrosive behavior. In wet applications, a protective coating is strongly recommended. Coatings that have been used successfully include epoxy coatings, nickel plating, and combinations of these coatings. Arnold was also able to apply a parylene coating to the new magnets. The effectiveness of the coating depends on the quality of the substrate. We have evaluated substrates for corrosion resistance from multiple manufacturers and only offers licensed, highly corrosion-resistant materials that are produced under strict controls.
