Product Description
The Helicobacter pylori Ag rapid test indicates active Helicobacter
pylori infection by using specific antibodies to detect antigens
present in stool. However, a negative test result does not rule out
H pylori infection. It can also be used to monitor the
effectiveness of treatment and recurrence of infection, and is not
affected by the use of proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs). In fecal
occult blood (FOB)-positive specimens, a seroprevalence of
Helicobacter pylori has been reported to be approximately 39.3%.
Thus, specimens that test positive for FOB can also be tested
positive by the on-site Helicobacter pylori silver rapid test. Any
interpretation or use of this preliminary test result must also
rely on other clinical findings and the professional judgment of
the healthcare provider. Alternative test methods should be
considered to confirm the test results obtained with this device.
