I don't think it is water resistant. I would advise against using it too near or under water. It is solid, made well, but no indication of water resistant.

It does not. Will keep sharp for years, then you replace it

I haven't oiled them yet, but I used then only a couple times.
If using a lot you could oil about once a month to keeping it running smooth.

Idk about the AA battery? Mine came fully charged never had to use any other batteries
