Casing Scraper Applications

The casing scraper is an ideal tool to remove the residual dirt on the inner wall of the casing, such as solid cement, hard wax, various salt crystals

or deposits, perforation burrs, iron oxide residues from rust, etc., so that all downhole tools can pass smoothly. Especially when there is a small

circular gap between the downhole tool and the inner diameter of the casing, complete scrapping becomes more necessary before further work.

In large oil wells, scraping the inner wall of the casing with a casing scraper is an essential step.

Working Principle

Before entering the well, the installation size of the largest blade should be larger than the inner diameter. After entering the well, the blade

presses down on the spring, and the spring gives radial force. When the hard material needs to be scrapped, it must be scrapped multiple times

to be scrapped to the inner diameter of the casing. The casing scraper is connected to the lower end of the drill string, and the drill string moves

up and down during the scraper operation for axial feed. As can be seen from the structure, each helical blade has two curved scraping edges

inside and outside. When the blade is reciprocating scraping, the inner edge and the outer edge work in turn, and there is a wider lateral land

between the two scraping edges, which plays the role of cutting and milling on the cut surface. The belt blades are evenly distributed on the

scraper, so that the returned mud will take away the scraped material.
