26°C Thermal Management PCM Can Be Applied To Garment Fabrics To
Make Smart Garments With Temperature Regulation
Composition and structure:
- Its composition usually includes suitable phase change substances,
such as some organic phase change materials, such as paraffins,
fatty acids, etc., which can undergo phase transformation at about
26 °C. Structurally, it may be in the form of microencapsulation,
in which phase change substances are encapsulated in tiny capsules.
- The outer shell of the microcapsule is generally made of polymer
material, which can not only prevent the leakage of phase change
materials, but also can be easily mixed with other materials. In
textiles, for example, microcapsules can be evenly dispersed
between the fibers.
Performance characteristics:
1. Temperature regulation ability
- When the ambient temperature approaches or reaches 26°C, the PCM
begins to undergo a phase transition. If the temperature rises, the
PCM changes from a solid state to a liquid state (assuming a solid
state at an initial temperature of less than 26°C), absorbing a
large amount of heat, so that the ambient temperature does not rise
sharply and acts as a cooler. Conversely, when the temperature
drops, it transitions from a liquid state back to a solid state,
releasing heat and keeping the ambient temperature relatively
stable, helping to maintain a comfortable temperature environment.
- For example, in an indoor environment, when the indoor temperature
is close to 26°C, building materials or equipment containing 26°C
thermal management PCM can adjust the temperature through phase
change, reduce the frequency of use of air conditioning and other
equipment, and achieve energy saving and improve indoor comfort.
2. Stability
- This PCM is able to maintain relatively stable performance over
multiple phase change cycles. Its microencapsulated structure can
effectively protect the phase change substance, making it less
susceptible to external environmental factors (such as oxidation,
pollution, etc.), and ensure long-term and effective thermal
management functions.
- For example, in long-term use of smart textiles, PCM microcapsules
can withstand multiple washes and other processes without
significant performance degradation.
3. Strong adaptability
- By adjusting the composition and proportion of phase change
substances and the preparation process of microcapsules, the phase
change temperature, heat storage capacity and other properties of
PCM can be adjusted to meet the needs of different application
scenarios.
- For example, in building energy efficiency applications in
different climate regions, the appropriate 26°C thermal management
PCM can be customized according to the local climate
characteristics.
4. Good size advantage and dispersion
- Microcapsules are generally small in size, often at the micron
level, which allows them to disperse well in a variety of matrix
materials. Whether in coatings, plastics or textiles, it can be
evenly distributed without affecting the overall performance and
appearance of the material, while also improving the efficiency of
heat exchange.
Fields of application:
1. Smart textiles
- 26°C thermal management PCM can be applied to clothing fabrics to
make smart garments with temperature regulation. When the surface
temperature of the human body rises to about 26°C, PCM absorbs heat
and makes people feel cool.
- When the skin temperature drops, PCM releases heat to provide
warmth and comfort for the wearer. It is especially suitable for
outdoor sportswear, occupational protective clothing and other
fields.
2. Building energy saving
- Add 26°C thermal management PCM to building materials, such as wall
coatings, insulation, etc. When the indoor or building surface
temperature is close to 26°C, PCM absorbs or releases heat through
phase change, regulates the indoor temperature, reduces the energy
consumption of cooling or heating equipment such as air
conditioners, and realizes building energy saving.
3. Heat dissipation of electronic equipment
- For some temperature-sensitive electronic components, the 26°C
thermal management PCM can be used as part of the heat dissipation
material.
- When the working heat of the electronic components makes the
temperature close to 26°C, the PCM absorbs the heat, prevents the
components from being damaged due to overheating, and improves the
stability and service life of the electronic equipment. For
example, in some small electronic devices such as smartphones,
tablets, etc., this PCM can be applied to optimize heat
dissipation.
4. Automobile interior
- 26°C thermal management PCM is applied to automotive seats,
interior panels, and other parts. When the temperature in the car
fluctuates around 26°C, the PCM can adjust the local temperature
and improve the comfort of the driver and passengers.
- Especially in the summer when the temperature is high, the heat
absorption function of the PCM can reduce the surface temperature
of the seat and other parts, and reduce the discomfort of the human
body in contact with the hot surface.
