FAQ:
1. How is data stored in CCD memory?
During the first phase, the CCD passively collects incoming photons, storing electrons in its cells. After the exposure time is passed, the cells are read out one line at a time. During the readout phase, cells are shifted down the entire area of the CCD. While they are shifted, they continue to collect light.
2. Is CCD sensitive to light?
A Charge Coupled Device (CCD) is a highly sensitive photon detector. The CCD is divided up into a large number of light-sensitive small areas (known as pixels) which can be used to build up an image of the scene of interest.
3. What is the difference between barcode scanner CCD and laser?
As a comparison, a CCD scanner utilizes LED lights to illuminate the barcode and these lights have a lifespan of almost 10 times longer than laser scanners. Laser scanners, because of their internal moving parts, are less resistant to wear and tear and are susceptible to failure or damage.
