Production of open die forging free forged products for car and crane projects
A ring forging quenching device includes a water tank for quenching ring forgings, a water inlet pipe is arranged in the water tank, the end of the water inlet pipe is located in the center of the water tank, and the water outlet direction of the water inlet pipe is vertically upward, and the water inlet pipe is arranged in the water tank. A number of impellers and a driving device for driving the impellers to rotate are evenly arranged around the tank, and each impeller faces the central part of the water tank. The utility model is suitable for quenching ring forgings, which can make the temperature of the quenching medium uniform, which is beneficial to avoid cracking defects and low quenching efficiency in the quenching process of the ring forgings, and greatly improves product qualification rate and production efficiency.
The adopted manufacturing process of hardness homogenization inside
and outside of forgings includes the following steps: Quenching:
Heat the workpiece to 880±5°C as soon as possible, and then carry
out the first heat preservation. The first heat preservation time
is proportional to the thickness of the workpiece. When the
thickness is 1 inch, the holding time is 0.5 to 1 hour. After the
first holding period of time, water cooling is performed; The
second holding time is proportional to the thickness of the
workpiece. When the thickness of the workpiece is 1 inch, the
holding time is 1 to 1.5 hours. After the second holding time, the
temperature of the workpiece is lowered to 620±5℃ and then the
third holding time is carried out. , The third holding time is
proportional to the thickness of the workpiece. When the thickness
of the workpiece is 1 inch, the holding time is 1 to 1.5 hours.
After the third holding time, the forgings are obtained by air
cooling to room temperature.
When heating large forgings, if the charging temperature is too
high or the heating speed is too fast, the temperature difference
between the core and the surface of the forging will be too large,
resulting in excessive internal stress and cracks. Therefore, when
heating large forgings, to prevent the furnace temperature from
being too high and the heating speed being too fast, heat
protection measures should generally be adopted.
