Customized Aluminum Alloy Shaft Coupling Floating Coupling
Overview
Floating coupling is suitable for connecting two shafts without
backlash slewing transmission. The coupling is composed of a half
coupling with two grooves at two ends, an intermediate slider (two
convex blocks arranged in a cross shape), a steel ball and two
steel balls that are radially balanced by a spring. Paired devices
are supported in the tangential holes of the coupling. When the
active half coupling rotates, the torque is transmitted to the
slider through the support and the steel ball, and then to the
driven half coupling through the support. The gap between the steel
ball on the slider and the support is determined by the spring. The
support is heat-treated, so it will not be crushed by the steel
ball. The support can be replaced when it is worn to increase the
reliability of the coupling. The size of the torque transmitted by
the coupling depends on the outer diameter of the half coupling,
the material and the heat treatment process of the steel flow
bearing.
