Single and Doubly Rotated AT SC Cut Quartz Crystal Blanks with ZTC
Frequency versus temperature
Crystal frequency output as a function of temperature. Temperature stability is a specification calculated in fractions per billion. SC cut crystal can improve the performance of the oscillator. The main reason is the slope of the curve near the turning point of the crystal. In general, AT the same inflection point, the slope of the SC cut is 1/3 of the slope of the AT cut. Another advantage is that SC cuts are adapted to operate over a wider temperature zone.
Crystal aging
Crystal aging is an indicator of how the frequency of a crystal changes over its lifetime. Crystal aging is caused by impurities in the oscillator. The aging rate is also measured in parts per billion. SC cut crystal is not sensitive to some factors affecting aging, such as crystal installation stress, crystal plating stress, electronic product performance changes, etc., and has little impact on the supply chain.
