Feline Herpes Virus (FHV) Antigen Test Card (Colloidal Gold Chromatography)
Intended Use
Feline Herpesvirus, also known as viral nasal bronchitis, mainly
affects the upper respiratory tract, conjunctiva, and oral cavity
of cats. After the cat is infected with the virus, it will have
symptoms such as runny nose, cough, conjunctival redness and
swelling, and increased eye secretions, which are more harmful to
cats.
This reagent is used for the qualitative detection of feline herpes
virus in the nasal secretions of cat eyes.
Specification

Components
Disposable Swab, Buffer, Test Card, IFU
Test Principle
This kit uses a specific antigen-antibody response and colloidal
gold immunochromatography to detect feline herpesvirus (FHV)
antigens in cat's eye nasal secretion samples.
After the sample is added to the dosing hole, it moves along the
chromatography membrane with the colloidal gold marker, and if the
feline herpes virus is present in the sample, it binds to the
colloidal gold marker and the antibody on the detection line to
show purple red, and if the feline herpes virus is not present in
the sample, the detection line is produced without purple-red
bands. Regardless of whether the feline herpes virus is present in
the sample, a purple-red band appears on the control line.
Test Method
1. Open and remove the disposable cotton swab from the package, and
scrape the cat's eye nasal secretion sample with the cotton swab
head.
2. Tear open the seal of the lysis liquid aluminum foil, completely
immerse the sampled cotton swab head in the lysate, rotate 5 times
along the tube wall, squeeze the cotton swab head from the outside
of the test tube, so that the sample is fully dissolved in the
lysate.
3. Tear open the aluminum foil packaging bag of the test card,
remove the test card, and place it on a flat and clean table.
4. Drop the diluted sample vertically into the corresponding dosing
well and wait for the test result.
5. After 5-15 minutes at room temperature, the results are judged,
and the results exceeding 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The above judgment time is performed at room temperature at
15-30 °C. If the room temperature is lower than 15 °C, the judgment
time should be appropriately extended.
